The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has released the list of candidates who have been selected to undergo a two-year training programme offered in the eight (8) public Teacher Training Colleges (TTCs) under Cohort 17 of Initial Teacher Primary Education (IPTE) program. All selected candidates are going to be boarders and their names have been sent to Principals ofall public TTCs and all District Education Managers' (DEMs) offices.

In its official statement, the Ministry informs all the selected candidates to report at their respective colleges on Wednesday, 6th October 2021 in readiness for classes on Thursday 7th October 2021. The selected candidates are further informed that their places will be declared vacant if they do not report at their respective colleges by Moday, 21st October, 2021.

Further, the Ministry informs all selected candidates and the general public that completion of the 2-year programme does not mean automatic recruitment by Government.

The selected candidates advises selected candidates to bring the following items when reporting for training:

1. National identity card
2. An original copy of Malawi School Certificate of Education
3. Beddings, bathing towels, soap, water buckets, plates, cups, spoons and forks
4. Sports attire
5. Writing materials
6. MK5,000.00 as tuition fees and MK30,000.00 as boarding fees
