About the Ministry of Education Funding for Masters Research 2021

The Ministry of Education, through the Directorate of Higher Education, has made available some funds to support at least 50 young researchers who are studying for Master’s degrees in public institutions of higher education. The grants will be to the tune of MK500, 000.00 (Five Hundred Thousand Kwacha Only) per successful applicant.

How To Apply

Submit an application package online, including the following:

1. An application letter through the institution with a stamp on it 
2. A complete Master’s degree proposal 
3. A letter of support from the main supervisor

To be considered, a proposal must be in line with national development agenda as outlined in Government policy documents including NESIP 2020 – 2030, and Malawi 2063; be concise with total number of pages between 15 and 20 including references, work plan and budget; and must clear indicate the following:

1. Introduction 
2. Statement of the problem 
3. Purpose of the study 
4. Research questions/objectives 
5. Significance of the study 
6. Literature review 
7. Methodology 
8. Itemized budget 
9. References

Interested young researchers should submit their application dossiers online through the application portal. The closing date for receiving applications is 16th May, 2021.
