About the Voices of NCDI Poverty Fellowship June 2021 – December 2022
The NCDI Poverty Network aims to prevent and reduce the death and suffering of those doubly afflicted by extreme poverty and non-communicable diseases and injuries (NCDIs) – especially children and young adults who suffer avoidable deaths each year from NCDIs. The Network accomplishes this goal by supporting National NCDI Poverty Commissions in countries with a high prevalence of extreme poverty – and is building a larger movement around ensuring that service delivery for NCDIs is a key component of Universal Health Coverage (UHC) for the poorest populations. The network was launched in December 2020.
The NCDI Poverty Network co-secretariat (based at Harvard Medical School and the Mozambique Institute for Health Education and Research), and collaborating partners (Partners In Health), are currently recruiting for an 18-month paid fellowship opportunity for three (3) persons living with noncommunicable diseases and injuries (PLWNCDIs) to be leading voices in the recently-launched NCDI Poverty Network. Financial support will be provided to Fellows and fellowships can be arranged at varying levels of commitment.
The NCDI Poverty Network secretariat is currently recruiting for an 18-month paid fellowship opportunity for three (3) persons living with noncommunicable diseases and injuries (PLWNCDIs) to serve as leading voices in the Network’s governance and advocacy campaigns. Financial support will be provided to Fellows and fellowships can be arranged at varying levels of commitment.
Through this 18-month fellowship, Fellows will co-develop and implement advocacy projects and strategy focused on advancing the NCDI Poverty agenda, in close collaboration with the larger NCDI Poverty Network. Fellows will also be named to the Steering Committee of the NCDI Poverty Network and will have a voting role in the governance of the Network over the duration of the fellowship. Fellows will also be provided individual mentorship and peer-to-peer support throughout the fellowship.
Fellows, at the end of the fellowship, will work closely with the Voices of NCDI Poverty team and the NCDI Poverty Network Steering Committee on an after-action review and will be invited to stay actively involved with the Network as alumni mentors and collaborators.
Deadline: Applications are due online by Friday, 26 March, at 11:59pm EDT.
The full application can be found here, and can be submitted online or via an interactive PDF that can be downloaded, filled out, and submitted as an email attachment to Lauren Brown ([email protected]).
